サンプリングによって生まれる音楽の魅力に、現代のぼくらの耳は充分に慣れてきたが、このような形で、台湾のIT担当大臣と日本のヒップホップクルーの間に予期せぬマリアージュが、相互の信頼の元に達成されることは空前絶後だろう。
今回のコラボレーションにあたって、オードリー・タンは、自らのインタビュー音声という素材のポテンシャルを自由にAmplify(＝増幅)する権利を与えてくれた。
政治家とアーティストの協力といえば、単に声の大きさを増幅する拡声器としての意味しか持てない、ぼくらの国の文化的状況にあって、これ程自分のトラックメイカーとしての能力を無制限に解放させてくれる機会に恵まれたことに、最大級の感謝と敬意を表したい。
COVID-19対策における大きな成果を生んだオードリー・タンの発話を、その音楽的ポテンシャルにおいて増幅し届けられることは、メッセージの内容それ自体を超えて、ぼくらにとっての文化的エンパワーメントとなるだろう。
隣国の芝生は青いと再確認するためでなく、ぼくら、いや、この世界の我々全員にとっての他山の石として、この「市民の歌」を作った。

Even for the modern ears that are fully accustomed to the musical appeal created by sampling, a marriage between Taiwan’s IT minister and a Japanese hip-hop crew must had been unimaginable.
In this collaboration, Audrey Tang gave us the opportunity to freely amplify the potential of the material, her interviewed voice.
When the cooperation between politicians and artists, especially in the cultural situation of Japan, mostly can only be used as a loudspeaker that amplifies the loudness of voices, Audrey gave us the limitless opportunity to fully express our musical ability. We would like to show our deepest gratitude and respect for making it happen.
The utterance of Audrey Tang, who produced great results in COVID-19 measures, being amplified and delivered as a song, will go beyond the content of the message itself and become a cultural empowerment for everyone of us.
We made this tune not just to envy how grass is greener in our neighbor, we made this “citizen’s song” to be an inspiration for everyone of us in this world.
